Spent the first years of his life in the Upper Midwest in the USA, in the forest. Introduced to Orienteering by his mother who grew up with it in Sieben Bürgen in Romania and was excited when she discovered the local club. Moved to Singapore at the age of 9 and later to Taiwan and was away from orienteering for several years until moving back to USA. Spent 2015/2016 enjoying a gap year between high school and university - partly in an internship at Yale's Gerstein Lab, and then six months in the alps working as a ski instructor.
